Great popcorn movie. Just get the feeling if you take Loki out of the film it loses a lot. He is a great villain.
I also feel the movie centred on Tony Stark/Iron Man far too much (an issue to plague later MCU films) when it needed much more Steve Rogers/Captain America. Having said that amazing visuals and a great watch. Just not quite up there with the greats in the Comic Book Movie world.

Loved the film, and my TV does 3D extremely well, but after 2 years I am still finding the 3d effects distracting from full immersion. If your eye is not drawn where the film-maker expected, you can get blur, flat picture and other distracting elements. Focussing on centre-screen 100% of the time means you miss a lot of the detail, and I find myself watching the 3D version once for the big effect moments, then the 2D version every time subsequent - it's just less effort, and I feel that I absorb more of the picture and get a deeper immersion. I don't think the TV is at fault (top-of-the-range Panasonic plasma) and I believe the distracting effects are film-based and an inherent problem with making an edge-to-edge image sharply focussed and accurately 3D all the time. I think my TV does it better than the cinema screens, and this pack still gets 5-stars, 'cos the 2D bluray is included and the film is a corker. :)

Very typical high-quality Marvel 3D Blu-ray release. Like most modern Marvel CU releases, no expense has been spared in production and fans of the MCU certainly won't be disappointed. 3D effects are very detailed although not much use of negative space, which seems to have fallen out of fashion with 3D filmakers at the moment. Most of the current Marvel CU releases (with the obvious exception of Deadpool) show that it's still possible to make a great family adventure movie without having to resort to a script full of obscenities!
